The righteousness of the cervical column is a principle which underlies certain techniques of reeducation of the musicians, suggesting that the posture could create some diseases (focal dystonia, musculoskeletal disorders). Yet, the works realized in the industry show that the psychological context influences the onset of musculoskeletal disorders. We can thus wonder if the psychic state modifies the cervical attitude, and if it can explain musculoskeletal disorders in a context of stress. I read treaties of painting and collect their observations on this matter. Then, I looked for a simple means to study the cervical attitude from a flat representation.
In the treaties of painting, a higher age, a disadvantaged social status and a negative psychological state is connected with a "rolled up" posture, which is described only in a indirect way. Besides, the various components of a comfortable posture that allow the precision of gestures are considered as connected each other. It allows a multiplicity of postural marks for the description of posture.
On flat representations of dressed subjects, we can study: on a frontal view, the relative place of the intersection point between the axial line and the line connecting both external acoustic meatus, the intersection point of lines corresponding to the top edges of trapezes, and the intersection point between the axial line and the line of acromions; on a side view, the place of the perpendicular of the axis (eyes - external auditory canals) versus the direction of the low cervical column, as well as the shape of the cervico-dorsal column.
